If you've got a craving for fresh sashimi, then look no further than Shirasa Restaurant. Conveniently located on the main road with ample parking, dishes are generously proportioned with thick slices of the freshest seafood sitting on top of the perfectly cooked rice. At ¥1500 the sashimi nigiri represents tremendous value and is a must try (while stocks last), and you'd be paying many multiples of the ¥2500 asking price for the sea urchin rice if you were on Western shores. Shirasa is a local gem, and should be on everyone's restaurant shortlist if you happen to be in the area.

Fresh, fresh and fresh. Came here for a quick lunch. It’s completely worth it. Maybe the price is a bit high. But once you see the amount of the uni on the rice and the freshness of the uni. The price is actually so cheap. Besides the uni don, I also highly recommend the fried rice here. The taste is really good. This place won’t make you disappoint.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The owner was extremely lovely when she gave us her proudly made food, feels just like home. I was lucky to have UNI don in nearly November end. UNI was still very fresh, totally a place I would recommend.

It was delicious but soy sauce was little light for my taste and rice was little disappointment. I thought this place was only one serving Uni but I found out there are other restaurants starving Uni don in this island.. I like to try other places next time..

The uni and sea grape Don is to die for! Very fresh ingredients and they combine to give you an unforgettable taste!

You know you’re onto a good thing when the menu is limited: they know what they do good and that’s what they do. Here, I had some of the best uni I’ve ever had. It was a hot day but man did it go down like a charm. Good portion size but uni don was gone pretty quick because it was that good. For its price and it was worth it as the quality was high and there was no doubts about its freshness. Some complain about service but they can’t see it for the old school charm that makes you feel like you’re having a meal in someone’s home: the grandmas running the shop are there to take your order, get you fed, and get you on your way. Maybe it’s the Instagrammers taking up the space that should be questioned, no?

Unidon and sea urchin were great. But it's a little expensive. However, restaurants near this island are generally expensive. This is the best place nearby.

You'll get a decent serving of urchin toppings over rice. Beware though, it might burn a hole in your pocket.

Quiet rustic ambience to have local fresh food, sea urchin is by far the freshest and abundance given for the price. Definitely the place to go if you are in Okinawa. Don’t miss out the sea grapes too!
